In-Depth Dialogue on Lighting Technologies workshop at Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Theatre in Tashkent

On August 24, Sound Creations held a specialized workshop on the stage of the Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Theatre in Tashkent, focusing on advanced lighting technologies, specifically the Ayrton Bora S fixtures. The session was conducted in an intimate, workshop-style format and was attended by a select group of theatre lighting professionals, including the theatre’s technical director and resident lighting designers. This setup facilitated focused technical discussions and direct interaction.

Mark Stavtsev, an engineer at Sound Creations and an active lighting designer at the Dubai Opera, led the event. He provided an in-depth demonstration of the relationship between light output and noise levels, explained Color Rendering Index (CRI) considerations, and highlighted diagnostic procedures for Bora fixtures—a critical aspect for the theatre, which operates 24 Bora S units in its productions.



"The intimate format created an ideal environment for professional knowledge exchange. We observed genuine engagement, highly detailed questions, and a clear desire to understand the technology at a deeper level," said Vladislav Jurakovsky, Head of the Lighting Department at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre.

"Through this masterclass, my goal was to share practical insights, showcase the operational subtleties of Ayrton fixtures, and engage directly with lighting professionals. The response exceeded expectations—the participants were fully engaged, asked precise technical questions, and showed authentic interest in operational details. For me as a practitioner, such sessions are invaluable: it’s not theoretical but a real, hands-on dialogue addressing practical challenges and exploring innovative approaches together. The atmosphere was truly collaborative, with every question addressed in depth," shared Mark Stavtsev.

Sound Creations continues to advance educational initiatives, aiming to elevate the technical expertise of lighting professionals in the region.
