Barco Projection for the Multimedia Exhibition "Jadids: Letters to Turkestan" in Tashkent

The exhibition highlights crucial moments in Central Asian history associated with Jadidism, a progressive movement that emerged in the early 20th century. By employing an interactive format that incorporates visual and auditory elements, the installation is designed to be accessible to a diverse audience, featuring presentations in three languages. For the image projection in this installation, various models of Barco projectors were utilized, including the G60-W7, G62-W9, G62-W14, and G100-W22. Thanks to the free proprietary software, Barco Projector Toolset, installation, configuration, and management of all projectors can be conducted remotely from the operator's computer. This software also enables projection onto geometrically complex surfaces (such as cubes and angled walls) and facilitates the overlapping and stitching of images from multiple projectors.

The high installation flexibility of the Barco G-series projectors allowed for the full realization of the project authors' vision. These projectors can rotate their projection axis by 360 degrees, support portrait mode, and correct trapezoidal distortions both vertically and horizontally. All projectors were mounted on the ceiling using brackets, while some were positioned on the side for portrait mode projection. The use of rear-projection lenses enabled the projectors to be placed at minimal distances from the walls, significantly reducing shadows and noise from viewers.

Another advantage of Barco projectors is their low noise level—only 36 dB at an ambient temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. This is particularly important for multi-projector installation as "Jadids" is, where even minor background sounds can distract viewers and disrupt the dramatic atmosphere.
