Ayrton Laser Fixtures: Precision, Impact, and Visual Drama

1
Laser-based lighting fixtures represent a unique class in stage and architectural illumination. They generate intensely focused, saturated beams that maintain brightness over long distances. These fixtures are indispensable when an ultra-narrow beam, striking aerial effects, precise gobo projections, or pinpoint accents on stage are required.

Ayrton employs phosphor laser modules, delivering a stable white light source with exceptional brightness and reliability. This technology enables not just classic beam fixtures, but fully-featured luminaires with color mixing, advanced graphics, animation, and zoom capabilities. The Ayrton laser line includes three models—Cobra, Kyalami, and Mamba—each tailored to specific scales and design needs.

Cobra: The Foundation of Ayrton’s Laser Line

The Cobra marked Ayrton’s debut in laser lighting and set the benchmark for future development. Built on the conceptual platform of the DREAMSPOT 18K (first introduced in 2016), Cobra underwent extensive engineering refinement to emerge as a high-performance, multi-functional luminaire.

Cobra is a laser-based beam fixture with an ultra-narrow 0.6° minimum beam angle, optimized for long-throw applications and precise visual effects. Its speckle-free 6500 K phosphor laser engine delivers up to 386,000 lux at 20 meters, ensuring intense brightness with minimal visual noise.

Inside, a 13-lens optical system delivers a 38:1 zoom ratio (0.6°–23°). The fixture includes 92 gobos, full CMY + linear CTO color mixing, dual-layer animation wheels, rotating prisms, and frost filters. With an IP65-rated enclosure and a manageable 33 kg weight, Cobra is ideal for arenas, tours, and architectural outdoor installations.

Kyalami: Compact Power with Architectural Precision

Launched in 2024, Kyalami is Ayrton’s second laser model, designed for projects requiring compact size, refined control, and architectural aesthetics.

Its visual identity draws inspiration from the iconic MagicDot fixture (introduced in 2015), yet its internal architecture is entirely reimagined. Kyalami features a 100 W laser engine, optimized optics, and a full suite of graphic capabilities for crafting precise, high-impact lighting effects.

Producing up to 400,000 lux at 10 meters with a tight 1° beam, the Kyalami weighs only 14.5 kg, making it perfect for tight rigging environments. Its three-element optical train with a 126 mm front lens provides sharp, stable output. The fixture supports full CMY color mixing, a color wheel with 22 filters, 29 gobos, dual prisms, and dual frost filters. With infinite pan and tilt, plus IP65 protection, Kyalami is suited for both stage and architectural applications.

Mamba: Maximum Output for Large-Scale Productions

Introduced in late 2024, Mamba is the most powerful laser fixture in Ayrton’s portfolio. This flagship luminaire features a 500 W phosphor laser engine, generating up to 2,600,000 lux at 10 meters, making it a true powerhouse for open-air shows and large-format events.

A massive 250 mm front lens and a versatile zoom range of 0.7° to 15° allow Mamba to produce razor-sharp beams at virtually any distance. The feature set includes 92 gobos, layered prisms, animation wheel, CMY + 15-color wheel, and frost filters. Weighing 41 kg with IP65 protection and an operating range of −20°C to +45°C, Mamba is designed for the harshest environments and most demanding applications.
