Light on stage. #5 - Color

We’ll explore how the human eye functions—how it perceives brightness, color, and contrast—and why some lighting scenes appear expressive while others feel flat or visually tiring.

  • Color as a Tool: Typology of LEE and Rosco Filters
We'll examine how color filters are constructed, the types used for correction, effects, and white light adjustment, and discuss their continued importance even in the LED era.

  • HSB in Practice: From Theory to Stage
We’ll break down the HSB model, understand how it works and where it's used, and learn to apply it for precise color tuning in stage environments.

  • Color Synthesis with Ayrton and ETC Fixtures
Using Ayrton and ETC as examples, we’ll explore how modern lighting devices build color through LED systems—from RGBW and CMY to advanced spectral technologies. We’ll analyze mixing, calibration, and control approaches and how they affect color quality.

  • Programming Essentials: Color Palette, FX, and Lighting Composition
The session concludes with hands-on programming: creating dynamic and static lighting scenes, using Color Palettes, FX, and Augment3D for visualizing results.
